# The Verified Pass

Last reviewed 19 October 2026

The Verified Pass is a one-time €29 purchase that turns what you learn here into proof: verified credentials and a real X.509 certificate from our own certificate authority, while all the learning stays free.

Note

Not available yet

You cannot buy the Verified Pass yet. It needs an account, and accounts arrive later. Everything below describes what we are building.

**Who this page is for:** anyone who wants to show what they have learned, for a CV, a LinkedIn profile or an employer. If you only want to learn, you never need it.

## What does the Verified Pass include?

- **A verified credential for each act** of the game you complete. The game has eight acts.
- **A verified credential for the crash course,** for people who learn with the course instead of the game.
- **The Certificate of Completion:** a real X.509 certificate issued by the PKI Zero to Hero certificate authority when you finish the game. In the final level you create your own key pair and certificate request in your browser, and your private key never leaves your device.
- **For every credential:** a public verify page that anyone can check, an “Add to LinkedIn” helper, and a PDF.

Progress you made before buying counts: credentials for what you have already completed are issued straight away.

## How much is it?

**€29, once, VAT included.** No subscription.

You can buy it for yourself or through your work. If your employer pays, you can enter the company’s name and VAT number and receive an invoice it can expense. Either way, the credentials are yours: they belong to the person who earned them.

Need passes for a whole group? [Teams](https://pkizerotohero.com/teams/) will include a Verified Pass in every seat.

## What do players without a pass get?

They play the same final level and make a real certificate too, in exactly the same way. The difference is who signs it: a **Practice CA** that runs only in your own browser.

That difference is the last lesson of the game. Your certificate is real X.509, but nobody else’s browser or computer trusts your practice CA, so nobody else can rely on it. A certificate is only worth what its issuer is trusted for, and trust has to be established before you need it. That is exactly how trust works on the web.

## What does a credential mean, and what does it not mean?

- **It means “passed the checks”.** Before signing anything, our server checks your answers again. A credential says you passed the game’s checks or the course’s checks.
- **We do not check your identity.** You choose the name shown on your credentials, and a nickname is fine. It is up to anyone reading a credential to decide how much weight to give it.
- **It is not an accreditation.** A credential or certificate from PKI Zero to Hero is not a professional certification or a qualification, and it is not endorsed by any certification body.

## What about my privacy?

- Your name appears on a public verify page only if you choose that.
- Accounts will be for people aged 13 and over. Younger players can play everything without an account and receive the Practice CA certificate.
- Full terms, including refunds and how credentials work if a purchase is refunded, will be published before sales open.

## When can I get it?

Later, together with accounts. Until then, you can learn everything here: start with the [crash course](https://pkizerotohero.com/course/) or the [handbook](https://pkizerotohero.com/handbook/).
